We spent the last weekend in July having fun at St. Martin's Church Picnic in Yorkville, IN. I have lots of fond memories of enjoying this picnic with my mom's family growing up. My cousins and I would play the ring toss game all day to win 2 liter bottles of Big Red (aka "red pop"). Then we would eat our turtle soup and play cards and other outside games, like whiffle ball, at Grandma and Grandpa W's.
Brendan particularly enjoyed the fish pond (yes, he drank the water) while Leah liked to sample all the games.

Nothing beats jumping in a bouncy house in 95 degree weather.

Enjoying the prizes.

My Grandma W. used to make quilts for the church quilt raffle. We always knew where to find her during picnic time, at the quilt stand selling tickets! In her memory, I always buy a few chances on the quilt raffle whenever I happen upon one. I never thought I would actually win but this year I did!
Here is the quilt I won. It was hand cross-stitched and quilted by several ladies in the church. So pretty.

I looooove this quilt, and I am SOOOOO jealous! I am glad it found a happy home. Good for you guys!
