Quilt Along with Crazy Mom Quilts

I have joined a quilt along over at Crazy Mom Quilts' blog. So far I have been able to keep up with the sewing but we'll see in six weeks if I have a completed twin size quilt top or not.

The prints in the picture above came from a jelly roll of Moda Hello Betty Retro. I love these prints so much I'm going to keep this quilt for myself. Our favorite quilt for napping (see below) is on its last leg. And that's too bad because it is hand pieced with Dresden plates and stars, has scalloped edges, and has hand quilting as well. Someone spent a lot of time making it. My mom gave it to me after she and her siblings split the last of my Grandma W.'s possessions. She said it had belonged to Grandma but no one else wanted it. Mom was quick to point out that Grandma hadn't made it (she could tell because the stitching was too uneven) but we'll probably never know who did.

Back to the quilt at hand. This is my favorite print from the line. Very 1930's inspired. I have a full yard of this that someday I'm going to make into an apron.
.

And here is what I have so far. Lots of seams! The more seams I have the less they match up. I'm hoping once the whole top is finished and the quilting is done you won't be able to see the mistakes as well.

  1. That is awesome. You are a superhero. Seriously! You need a cape. You do it all. :) I love those fabrics.

I imagine you can fix that other quilt....A good zig zag stitch can fix anything in our house! ha :)
