Grandma and Papa came over and brought the kids some birthday presents. Leah's got a pretty new winter coat and Brendan is enjoying his new books.

Papa tormented Leah by putting this train (James, I think) on his head.

Brendan and Leah went on their first field trip today to see The Rainbow Fish. Brendan's teacher told me he rode the bus like a big boy and enjoyed himself at the show. Leah, I was told, interrupted the show with an long, ear-splitting scream when her neighbor stole the sticker off her shirt. Such the drama queen.
I think Leah is finally potty-trained. Hooray! One down, one to go.
We tried out a new Indian restaurant on our date night last Friday. Byron finally decided to give curry another try and loved it so now we have a new place to go for date night. He then spent the rest of the evening checking the value of his baseball cards. How exciting. Apparently, he would be a millionare right now if his friend's older brother hadn't conned him out of some valuable cards when he was a kid. Oh, well.
Byron keeps his baseball cards in this safe. (I find it very funny that the only things we lock up around here are baseball cards.) He told me he would show me where he hides the safe so that if he ever dies I can sell the cards to pay the mortgage. Great! Now we can cancel that expensive life insurance policy!
I finally finished quilting on
Leah's blanket. Now I just have to make and attach the binding. Leah is quickly outgrowing her crib mattress so I hope we can find her a bed and finish this quilt soon.
